ABOUT ERIK MICKELSON
Erik Mickelson is a contributor and editor for the Apparel Graphic Academy blog. Currently, Erik is the Operations Manager for his family’s embroidery

and direct-to-garment business. Erik grew up in the embroidery business with his father, Jim Mickelson, who founded Northwest Embroidery in 1977.
Erik’s Education
Undergraduate
Erik graduated Washington State University in 1997 with a degree in Accounting and Finance. While attending college, Erik was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity.

After 20 years as the Operations Manager at Northwest Custom Apparel . Erik returned to school to receive his MBA from Western Governors University in 2016.

Erik stays connected with the Graphic Apparel Industry by attending continuing education courses.

HoBBIES OUTSIDE OF WORK
You will find Erik working in his yard, riding his mountain bike, at the gym and traveling with his wife Wendy.

Erik’s recent vacation was to Thailand for 2 weeks with his wife. They visited Bangkok and Phuket and had a fabulous time. The most exciting thing was going to the elephant sanctuary and playing with the elephants.
Erik and Wendy have a 1 year old Yorkie Pooh named Burt. Burt was named after Burt Reynolds and Erik’s favorite movie “Smokey and the Bandit.”

Erik and Wendy reside in the quiet town of Sumner, Washington which is known for its Rhubarb Pie.
